Pathways into Emergency Services
HILLS CAREERS AFTERNOON
Pathways into Emergency Services & Community Leadership
Friday 10 April, 1pm
MOTHs Hub, 6a Hayes Place, Belgrave
Join us at the MOTHs Hub for an inspiring and practical afternoon designed for local teens and their parents who are curious about careers that make a real difference in our community.
This small, welcoming event brings together people who live and work right here in the Hills to share their experiences and open up conversations about pathways into emergency services, volunteering, and community leadership.
Hear directly from:
• CFA representatives, including local member Amber Drummond
• Victoria Police
• Community and local government professionals
Together we’ll explore:
• Volunteering opportunities in bushfire response and emergency management
• How volunteering can grow into meaningful career pathways
• What working in emergency and frontline roles is really like
• Career progression in community and public service sectors
The afternoon will also include practical guidance on:
• CV writing tips for young people
• Interview preparation
• Pathways into traineeships, cadetships and further study
• How volunteering can open doors to future careers
At Mums of the Hills we believe strong communities grow from connection, opportunity and people who care about where they live. This afternoon is about helping young people see how they can be part of that while giving parents a clearer picture of the opportunities available.
Parents are warmly encouraged to attend alongside their teens.
