R.U.T.H. stands for Running Up That Hill. Literally and metaphorically that’s what we’re planning to do.
Early on September 20th, at Birdsland Reserve, this exclusive run of just over 5km will take you first along the relatively flat tracks around this beautiful reserve, before we tackle the hill! The final 550m of the run takes us up up and up to the top of a hill with spectacular views over Melbourne. Once done, head back down to the Birdsland Environmental Education Centre to celebrate with your family and fellow runners. It will be a super fun and inspiring event.
Why are we running up the hill?
The hill represents the mental and physical challenges that we face and our determination to overcome them to reach our goals. We are also leaning on another famous Ruth (Ruth Bader Ginsburg) as inspiration who once said:
“Real change, enduring change, happens one step at a time".
We know some of the many challenges our community faces so we’re hoping that by coming together in this fun way, will help for just a moment, to make you smile, laugh and feel a sense of achievement.
Dress up to make this a super fun event!
Love the inspiring Kate Bush song, Running Up That Hill? We do too. Come dressed in your red dress ‘Kate Bush style’ . Love the great tv show, ‘Stranger Things’, so do we - costume it up! Does RBG’s words speak to your soul? Don a collar that she was famous for.
As the majority of the event is on a pram/mobility friendly route, those that would otherwise not normally be able to participate in a hills event due to the gradient can still complete as much as they can, however they want.
This run is limited to 100 participants. Get in quick to avoid disappointment.
