Mums of the Hills, Inc. recognises the importance of peer-reviewed, ethics-approved research which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of mothers and their families in the Yarra Ranges. From time to time, we receive requests from university researchers seeking our help to reach eligible participants. We have connected researchers with potential participants on topics such as:

The sole involvement of Mums of the Hills, Inc. is in promoting the research initiatives to assist researchers attain appropriate population cross sections. We only ever promote research that has received ethics approval from the respective institutions. Plain language/patient information statements are also provided. All questions about the research should be directed to the contact provided with the call for participants, not Mums of the Hills, Inc.
Inquiry into Women's Pain
Chronic pain affects a higher proportion of girls and women than men around the world; however, women are less likely to receive treatment. MotHs is seeking individuals with information or interest to collaborate in a submission into the Inquiry into Women’s Pain.

Researchers from Murdoch Children’s Research Institute are interested in talking with children (with a parent present) who can share their views on how primary schools can support student mental health.

The Engaged Eaters Program Intervention study
Researchers at La Trobe University and the Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre are seeking volunteer research participants to be involved in a study about a weekly intervention for autistic children with feeding challenges. We are piloting an intervention that would attempt to address your child’s specific feeding challenges.

Working Out Dads
Working Out Dads Acceptability Study is being done by the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and Tweddle Child & Family Health Service. The aim of the project is to gather data on whether fathers of children with additional needs or a disability find Working Out Dads acceptable, and explore fathers’ satisfaction with the program.
