David J Delaney Psychology
Hey! Firstly, I probably should say that I have a warm, welcoming, empathetic, non-judgemental space and compassionate space where Mums can feel empowered to understand their experiences and build a more positive future. Whilst this is all true, most similar services say the same, right?
So, what makes me different? I have extensive experience in mental health, been a telephone counsellor with PANDA, taught Family Violence to new recruits at the Victoria Police Academy and teach mental health subjects at the university level. As a psychologist, I work extensively with those who have experienced trauma (including first responders), as well as mood challenges.
I am also a registered nurse and have an interest in supporting those who do shift work, as their shifts do not always align with availability of services.
My approach is varied, primarily drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic and humanistic theory to help clients develop healthy coping strategies. Overall, my core belief is that each individual, and their experiences, are unique and that we work together to develop and then put in place plan that best suits each individual's needs.
The first step is a brief call (no charge) to discuss your needs and see where we go from there!
