We’re looking for volunteers to help fill bags once a month to help welcome families to the area.

Time: 10:00am - 11:00am
The 'Welcome Bags for New Families’ initiative is a great new collaboration between MOTHS and MADCOW designed to connect, support and welcome new families in our community. We know the Yarra Ranges is a great place to live, but it can be isolating, especially for new families and new mums. The goal is to reduce this isolation and get mums and families involved and feeling welcome in our community. We hope to create thoughtfully curated welcome bags filled with essential items like information on local groups, upcoming events, markets, and anything a new family needs to know to thrive in the Yarra Ranges.
By participating, you'll not only support new families but also help us to develop intergenerational connections within our community. We especially encourage mums with children in 'gap demographics'—such as those with kids in kindergarten, post-high school, or those who are grandmothers—to join us. These stages can be extra isolating and present challenges in finding connections. Our initiative aims to bridge that gap by creating purposeful groups that bring joy and support to all involved.
Join us to make a positive impact in the Yarra Ranges, one welcome bag at a time. Your involvement can make a world of difference to new families seeking support and connection.
