Mums of the Hills, Inc. recognises the importance of peer-reviewed, ethics-approved research which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of mothers and their families in the Yarra Ranges. From time to time, we receive requests from university researchers seeking our help to reach eligible participants. We have connected researchers with potential participants on topics such as:

The sole involvement of Mums of the Hills, Inc. is in promoting the research initiatives to assist researchers attain appropriate population cross sections. We only ever promote research that has received ethics approval from the respective institutions. Plain language/patient information statements are also provided. Breastfeeding Osteopathic Manual Therapy Study
Lactation consultants, midwives and maternal health nurses often refer to osteopaths to help manage breastfeeding difficulty when the baby has difficulty latching and maintaining latch to the breast.
This PhD project from Southern Cross University aims to investigate the effect of adding Osteopathic Manual Therapy (OMT) for musculoskeletal dysfunction to IBCLC for infants with breastfeeding difficulty.
