Expression of Interest – Community Support Space
Over the past few days, I’ve spoken with local women who are carrying deep hurt and uncertainty following the recent ABC Four Corners episode and the allegations it raised.
In response, we are gently exploring whether there is a need for a confidential support space for locals who may have been impacted.
This could take the form of a small, private Facebook group, quiet in-person gatherings at the Mums of the Hills Hub, or a combination of both — depending on what feels most supportive.
The intention would simply be to provide a calm, respectful space for connection and shared experience. It would not offer legal or clinical advice, and it would not be a forum for naming individuals or debating allegations. The focus would remain on wellbeing and mutual support.
At this stage, we are just listening. If you feel something like this would be helpful, or if you are a qualified local practitioner who may be willing to support in a voluntary capacity, I invite you to reach out privately. All enquiries will remain confidential.
This will only move forward if there is clear need and appropriate support in place.
The Four Corners episode raised serious allegations about medical treatment experienced by some women. While formal investigations and processes will unfold separately, the emotional impact within our local community is already very real. This expression of interest is simply about offering care and connection during that time.
