Turning Up the Volume on Gender Equality: MOTHer ROCKers Documentary Premiere

On November 30, Mums of the Hills Inc (MotHs) is proud to be part of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign — an annual movement that shines a light on gender inequality and calls for a safer, more respectful world for all.

To mark the occasion, we’ll be premiering MOTHer ROCKers — a short documentary that tells the story of an all-mum community rock band that’s anything but ordinary.

Filmed by Dr Robyn Mansfield, MOTHer ROCKers follows a group of local mums from the Dandenong and Yarra Ranges who decided to challenge stereotypes, pick up instruments (some for the first time since having kids), and take the stage. What started as a fun, confidence-building project quickly grew into something much bigger - a loud, proud celebration of women’s creativity, friendship and courage.

The premiere event will begin with the Yarra Ranges Joint Statement on the Prevention of Partner Violence, reaffirming our collective commitment to equality and respect.

Through music and storytelling, MOTHer ROCKers shows that when women come together, incredible things happen. We don’t just make noise, we make change.

Stay tuned for event details and ticket information by submitting your intention to attend below. Let’s turn up the volume to 11 on gender equality, together.
