ONLINE CYBER SAFETY INFORMATION SESSION
For Teens & Parents

Monday 27 April, 6:30pm

Online session hosted by Mums of the Hills

We are pleased to present a timely and important online cyber safety session bringing together experienced cyber safety professionals alongside Sergeant Emily Donnolley.

This session will offer a balanced, practical and informed conversation about the realities young people face online, including digital grooming, image-based abuse, online exploitation, consent, and emerging risks in social media and gaming environments.

Importantly, this is not a fear-based presentation. It is designed for both teens and parents to attend together, encouraging shared understanding, open dialogue, and confidence rather than alarm.

During the session, we will cover:

• Practical tools families can use immediately
• Clear explanations of relevant laws and legal frameworks
• How and when to report concerns
• Reducing stigma and shame around seeking help
• Building digital resilience and confidence

With the increasing sexualisation and exploitation risks present in online spaces, particularly for young people, this session provides preventative education grounded in real-world experience.

By offering this event online, we hope to make it accessible and comfortable for families who may prefer to participate from home. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions in advance or anonymously during the session.

This session is about empowering families, not frightening them, and equipping our community with the knowledge, clarity and confidence to help young people navigate the digital world safely.
