MOTHer ROCKers Documentary Premiere

Turning Up the Volume to 11 on Gender Equality: MOTHer ROCKers Documentary – Director’s Cut Premiere

  • Location: Cameo Theatre, Belgrave

  • Date: Sunday 30th November

  • Time: 2pm-4pm

This November 30 at Cameo Theatre, Belgrave, Mums of the Hills Inc (MotHs) is proud to join the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign. This global movement calls for a safer, more respectful and equal world for all.

Thanks to the 16 Days of Activism Grant through Yarra Ranges Council, we are hosting a special test-audience screening of MOTHer ROCKers the Documentary. It follows an all-mum community rock band rewriting what motherhood “should” look like.

Filmed by Dr Robyn Mansfield and edited by Damien Rundell, the story captures mums picking up instruments (some for the first time since having kids), backing each other fiercely, and challenging gender stereotypes with humour, courage and a healthy dose of rock-and-roll chaos.

This exclusive Director’s Cut runs for approximately 1.5 hours and includes deleted scenes, extra moments of warmth, humour and behind-the-scenes energy originally cut for time. The film will be shown once only, with press invited to attend and review.

The event will open with the Yarra Ranges Joint Statement on the Prevention of Family Violence, a collaboration between Mums of the Hills, Single Mums of the Hills (SMOTHs) and Mountain Men, reinforcing our commitment to respect and equality.

Tickets are $10, with children 15 years and under are free. Seats are strictly limited.

Join us for this one-off premiere and help us turn up the volume on gender equality.

Price: $10 Adults (children 15 years and under free)
