Nurturing Your Gut: The Microbiome for Lifelong Wellness

  • MOTHs Hub 6A Hayes Place Belgrave, VIC, 3160 Australia (map)

Join us for lunch and a practical session with Dr Marina McPherson as she takes us on a deep dive into one of the most exciting frontiers of health: the gut microbiome.

  • Date: Sunday November 23rd

  • Location: MOTHs Hub, 6A Hayes Place, Belgrave

  • Time: 12pm - 2pm

  • Price: $5.30

You’ll learn how this hidden ecosystem within you influences everything from digestion and immunity to mood, metabolism and even skin health,  and what you can do, right now, to support it.

What you’ll discover:

  • What the gut microbiome is (and why it matters): the trillions of microbes in your digestive tract, why they flourish (or don’t), and how they influence your day-to-day health.

  • How a “healthy gut” links to deeper health-span, not just lifespan: why caring for your gut can help you feel more resilient, clear-headed, energetic, and connected in life.

  • Practical, evidence-based lifestyle steps to nurture your gut microbiome:

    • The role of diet (pre-biotics, fibre, plant diversity, fermented foods) and how simple small shifts add up.

    • How movement, sleep, stress and environment influence your gut ecosystem.

    • The connection between gut health, women’s health, hormones and life stage transitions (for example, peri-menopause and menopause).

    • The ripple effects: how supporting your gut can influence immune strength, digestion, mood & mental wellbeing, weight management and chronic-disease risk.

    • Realistic action-planning: what to focus on next week, next month and next year, not gimmicks, but sustainable habits that fit busy lives, motherhood, work, family and community.

    • Q&A time for your specific questions: bring your curiosity, bring your gut health myths, and get science-based clarity.

You should attend because:

  • good health isn’t just about “doing more”,  it’s about doing the right things at the right time to support your body, mind and the ecosystem within.

  • if you’re a busy parent juggling family, work, community and self-care (we know you are), this talk is designed to give you manageable, practical strategies, not another overwhelming checklist.

  • your gut isn’t an after-thought, it’s central to how you feel, function and flourish, and learning how to care for it now means laying the foundations for a stronger, more resilient you, for your family and for your community.

  • you’ll be part of the friendly, localised, parent-centred community of Mums of the Hills, sharing and learning together, not alone.

We look forward to seeing you and sharing this journey of gut-health empowerment together.
