Connecting In Play
A little about me Hello, I'm Natalie Walton, a Counsellor and Play Therapist based in the Dandenong Ranges and practicing from Ferntree Gully. I am passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and parents through the challenges of neurodivergence, trauma, and life's ups and downs. I believe that healing happens through safe, connected relationships, and I offer a warm and welcoming space where children and families feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow and thrive.
Professional Background
I am a Counsellor and Play Therapist with more than 20 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families through trauma, family violence, grief and loss, neurodivergence, and other life challenges. My background in social work, combined with extensive postgraduate training in trauma, counselling, and play therapy, has shaped my compassionate, relationship-focused approach.
I am passionate about creating safe and authentic spaces where children and families feel understood, build on their strengths, and develop resilience and lasting positive change. Supporting children and families Play Therapy Play is a child's natural language. Through child-led, creative, experiential, and somatic approaches, play therapy helps children process emotions, develop emotional regulation skills, strengthen relationships, and build resilience following difficult experiences.
Counselling
Counselling is available for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, family violence, relationship difficulties, emotional challenges, and life transitions. Sessions provide a safe, supportive environment to foster understanding, healing, and personal growth.
Parenting Support
Parenting can be both rewarding and challenging, particularly when caring for children who have experienced trauma, adversity, or neurodivergence. Parenting support focuses on strengthening parent-child relationships, understanding children's behaviours through a neurodevelopmental lens, and developing practical strategies that support connection, regulation, and resilience.
Approaches to healing and growth:
