Basic First Aid Training

Join us for this important first aid course for parents, grandparents and locals alike.

Thanks to the Yarra Ranges Council Storm Recovery Grant, Mums of the Hills is able to provide this important first aid course. In this 2.5 hour course you will learn:

  • Correct CPR technique and use of Defibrillator (demonstration and hands on opportunity for all participants).

  • Difference between Paediatric and Adult valves.

  • Respiratory Emergencies.

    • Asthma

    • Croup

    • Choking

    • Drowning

  • Haemorrhage/bleeding control

  • Falls, cuts and bruises

  • Anaphylaxis

  • Allergies

  • Bites (including snake) and Stings

  • High temperatures, Febrile Convulsions

  • FIRST AID KIT requirements

  • I was an Advanced Life Support Paramedic with twenty years of experience with Ambulance Victoria (AV).

    Since leaving AV I identified a need for First Aid Training to be done in a less formal and more enjoyable manner and created FIRST AID EXPERIENCE.

    I have established a base of clients in the Yarra Valley including local primary schools, community groups, physiotherapists, radiologists, GP clinics and other small businesses and sporting clubs.

    I have a current Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, a Working with Children check and Public Liability Insurance.
