Breastfeeding Information Session - Optimising Your Milk Supply

Join me and other local mums for an interactive and comprehensive discussion about all things to do with milk supply

Date: Friday 19th April
Time: From 10:30am to 12:30pm
Where: MotHs Hub, 6 Hayes Place, Belgrave

Almost 96% of new parents in Australia initiate breastfeeding, but by 3 months only 39% of babies are still being exclusively breastfed. By 5 months that figure drops to 15%. These figures are even higher amongst indigenous and culturally diverse communities. And the Number 1 reason why families introduce formula or give up breastfeeding altogether is over concerns about their milk supply and their babies rate of growth and weight gain.

This session provides an opportunity for us to share our experiences and support one another in a safe, relaxed and judgement free space.

From:

  • common causes of milk supply problems to

  • how to optimise your milk supply and,

  • what to do when problems occur,

  • with a special focus on all the emotions that milk supply concerns can entail, including the grief and disappointment that so often accompanies milk supply issues.

All mums are welcome, from pregnancy onwards. Whether you are exclusively breastfeeding, mixed-feeding, bottle feeding, exclusively expressing or not breastfeeding at all anymore. Babies welcome of course. Unfortunately we do not have the facilities to cater for older children.

Price: $30
